I was the lucky recipient of a dislocation and a trimalleolar fracture on June 23, 2002 in the rainforest in BC. Surgery on 25th with a plate and 5 pins on the fibula, a pin on the inside ankle bone and one at the front tibia?? 7 weeks in a walking cast and then weight bearing on flat surfaces. I was about 75% until last week, walking with almost no limp and no pain, then all of a sudden it started aching in the joint when I walked normally, so now I'm back to limping. Has this happened to anyone else? I see my surgeon next week to talk about hardware removal. The physio thought it may be pushing on a nerve or I may have scar tissue or spurs. Please email me if this happened to anyone. Do the exercised from physio - they are the key to success 2 X per day without fail.........
