This past Monday, Jan. 27, I had my first x-ray since the removal of the distal screws in Dec. There seems to be some growth beginning -enough that the doctor doesn't think I need a bone graft at the moment. Although disappointed that I am not progressing faster, I'm thankful that I don't need another procedure. Since I'm getting around great and have no more pain, the idea of being out of commission again is not exciting.
One thing the doctor did mention is that it is now a race between the bone healing and the rod breaking. He said that they usually break between 1 and 2 years. Has any one experienced this? Sounds terrible!
