Lindsay, don't be too disheartened. I broke my fib 10 weeks ago. 6+ weeks in a fiberglass cast, then a lace-up canvas ankle brace. And my leg still hurts. Hopefully you will heal quickly, but in the mean time you do have to deal with all of the adjustments that ANYone with a leg break has to deal with -- crutches, pain, weightbearing, radical changes in plans. I'm glad you're out of the cast though.

Do a search for "just a fib" to find more tales of people who "only" broke their fibula. There will always be people who have much worse breaks (tib, femur, surgery, etc.). Try to find those who CAN relate to your situation -- there are many compassionate people on this board!
