My GP referred me to an OS in the states, and he took x rays 3 weeks from the date of the surgery. He said that I'm healing well, everything is still aligned, and the OS in Mexico (Dr. Luis) did a fabulous job with it. Seeing the 2 plates and 14 screws on the x ray is still really weird.

He gave me a boot to wear, and having that stability has made me feel much better. The flexion of my ankle has been compromised but I have been flexing it and pointing my toes, and I can feel it getting stronger.

He also referred me to a physical therapist, and I had my first appointment with her today. It was great! She massaged my foot and measured my range of motion. She said that my diet is great for healing (great to know...I eat well anyway). She also said that the exercises I've already been doing were right on the mark, and I should increase the amount of time I spend doing them.

I will be weight bearing four weeks from now...I feel well cared-for and am looking forward to regaining my very active lifestyle.
