I like the sound of your surgery. A friend of mine broke her leg in Portugal and it was operated on and not plastered. I am in London England and have been put in a fibreglass cast and have been told that the two ends of my broken fibula will "probably" find each other again. I certainly hope so because it doesn't feel like it yet.

Yes, hiking is dangerous! I was running when I did mine. Not a care in the world, flying like the wind one second and then a rabbit hole changes my life in a mille second.
