First off...I am legal to drive... my injury is my left foot and I am not on any narcotics right now so Doc says it is fine to drive...and I have been picking my son up from school the past few weeks.
But about 6 months ago I got a car that is close to a sports car but still a 4 Door...(it is a Volkwagon CC) but since I have the knee walker and my car is lower to the ground. My hubby has switched cars with me since my injury, over a month ago. So I have been driving his SUV (older VW Toureg) since I have been able to, and only minimally. His car is nice but it doesnt have the pick up like mine.
Today he was going for a bike ride on his lunch break so he wanted the bigger car for his bike. So he left my car and crutches at the house... I couldn't resist it any longer so I crutched it out to the car and decided to go pick up lunch... I took the longest blocks I could rationalize to get lunch...
...and it really cheered me up. I am a car girl and have missed my car, so much.
I had to confess.... but shhhh don't tell hubby.
3/31/12 - fracture tib/fib with syndesmosis tear -
4/3 - OS appt- fracture blisters - delayed surgery
4/13 - ORIF - 2 screws / 2 rods
5/3 - cast off - boot on still NWB
5/10/ - x-rays - PWB as tolerated
5/16-starting PT
