Re: Question -- Can I sleep without the Removable Air Cast?
Taffy (---.atlsfl.adelphia.net)   11:03pm Dec 13 2004

Arlen, I don't have first-hand experience with this yet because I'm still in my hard cast but a good friend of mine broke his ankle last May and told me he opened his air cast at night and let the ankle rest inside it for sleeping. This served to be more comfortable and to let the skin breathe (apparently was peeling and so forth from being stuck in the cast). One thing to consider is that he said since his ankle rolled gently to the side while he slept on his back, it healed like that and so now when he walks one foot (his broken/healed leg) points outward and he has to consciously turn it back straightwards or will walk strangely. For me I think I would rather not heal that way so will keep my air cast on, unless extremely uncomfortable. Hope all this helps. -Taffy
