Are you in PT? You will have foot swelling regardless, but you can reduce it. Other than the obvious ice and elevating it, ask about the following two ideas:

My PT did what they call vascular wraps. They wrapped my toes and foot and it helped tremendously with swelling. I have now progressed from the wraps to a compression stocking which keeps the foot swelling down. I only wear the stocking during the day and take it off at night. It is rather tight. A PT has to fit you for these things for them to work right.

If your swelling is really bad, ask about lymphedema. It is basically reducing swelling through wraps and some other treatments. There are only limited amount of people who do this, not every PT can do it. Look at it on the web to find out more about it.
