Depending on what happens with the length of your cast, I will say my knee scooter has made so many things possible -- I can make dinner, basic picking up, etc. I tried the IWalk 2.0 and it didn't work that well for me - I don't think I have enough quad strength or the internal confidence -- but I can see how if you are in a lower leg cast it could be really good for you since you wouldn't need to depend on your wrist at all. https://iwalk-free.com
Even a wheelchair that you can roll will help you take care of your kids - they can sit on your lap! You just have to budget MORE time for basic needs and focus ONLY on meeting basic needs!
This is also a time to completely let TV and take-out be your friend. It feels so long but it truly is time that will be a blip in your kids development and a time when putting your own healing first is important, for the long term.
