Sorry to hear, Milo
I feel your pain. Iím 24 and although not a single parent, I have two young boys and being laid up with a broken leg is the worst thing when you have a family to support.
Even though you are on zero hour contracts, surely you are eligible for statutory sick pay while you are unable to work? And child benefit also? I know that doesnít amount to a fortune, but surely it can help?
Practically I spent a long time up and down stairs on my backside. But it really depends on your situation after hospital. Iím guessing if youíve broken your tib and fib then youíll have surgery and a short cast which may help your mobility. A long cast is more complicated. The wrist is a further complication, but if you end up with a walking boot and your leg/wrist are not both left or both right you may be able to shuffle up stairs as I did on your backside!
Hope you heal quickly!
