Tilly - I did feel that way and it's definitely a work in progress.
My first run "steps" were at about 3 months post break, I could only run a few steps and it felt weird.
I would say by 4 months post break I was run/walking again with little limp. And lots of strength back.
You're in the tough part for a few weeks and then you'll see it will be all uphill.
Listen to your PT (and dcb will attest) the more exercises you do (when given the ok) the faster you will get back to doing what you love!

Aug 18 - FWB in boot Aug 22 - first PT
Aug 24 - 8 wks - FWB boot no crutches
Sept 7 - 10 wks - first steps no boot
Oct 1 - back on my horse
