Broken Tib/Fib after mountain biking

Hi all, new here as a fiend recommended me this website.

I enjoy mountain biking and went with a few friends down to Chatel in the French Alps for 5 days of riding in the mountains. Our first day was fine, a great day of riding. Sunday started well with nothing too technical or downhill, unfortunately I clipped a rutt in a field, lost control and put my right foot down catching it on another rutt before being thrown off the bike, I heard my leg snap and could see it facing the wrong direction!! Horrorfying!!

I had to wait 40 minutes for attention from a medic before being airlifted to hospital where I was pinned on the tib 4 hours after the accident under epidural. I have no cast or anything, doc says it will be around 2 months before I can walk.

This all happened on the 1st July. Yesterday I had my bandage removed and staples taken out, felt like a big day of progress, no more bandages and can take a full bath!! :) I'm now waiting for a referral to a our fracture clinic and physio.

I'm hoping everything will heal nicely and there will be no long term issues. Swelling is reducing now but I still get blood pooling in the leg which is painful but I think slowly improving everyday. My ankle is quite stiff at the mo with some limitation in upward movement, I try to move the ankle to help improve things and build strength.

I'm an active person but I'm struggling with sitting with my feet up all day, thats the hardest part. I hope to be doing light exercise in tge gym again in about 2-3 weeks once swelling and blood pooling has receedee.
