Hi everyone, I've been looking through my hospital notes today that they gave me when I transferred hospitals from home to here. I didn't really want to know anything about my break at first, only when it would get better. Since then however, I've been researching my break and find it quite morbidly interesting. On my notes it says I had a Weber C fracture?! And that this was a displaced bimalleolar fracture and that there was some displacement of the fibula break as well. I had a syndesmosis screw and 2 x 4.0mm cancellous screws in the ankle. I have been advised nwb for 8- 10 weeks. I have tried looking at Weber c fractures online but can only find medical student texts etc. Does anyone else have these fractures or know if people start wb before the 8 - 10 weeks? Any problems with recovery or time scales etc.? Info? I ask more from an information and noseyness point rather than wanting to hurry my recovery, it's kind of interesting that all this is happening in my ankle... annoying, but still interesting
11.06.12 Weber C, displaced bimalleolar and fib fractures. NWB 8-10 weeks.
12.06.12 ORIF surgery. 2 screws plus 1 syndo screw
19.06.12 fibreglass cast on (pink)
13.08.12 Pwb 50%, cast OFF :)... Syndo screw removal in 2-3 weeks time.
