I broke my ankle but hear LOTS of popping sounds. PT told me it's likely air in the joint or scar tissue breaking up. Id' assume it's the same thing with you. Are you doing PT? You could ask them about it.
2/17 bimalleolar ankle fracture (fib/tib) not displaced
2/29 ORIF (2 plates and 7 screws) - soft cast for 2 weeks
3/15 removable boot NWB
4/12 WBAT - in boot
5/14 walking unaided
6/28 - Fibula plate removal
