He told me it was blood pooled in my heel! Apparently it's pretty normal! We tried wiping it off and it didn't come off. I guess with an ankle break the blood pools in your heel. After a few weeks in the boot it slowly started to go away. I spent a lot of time massaging my heel and around that area (not near my incision). My heel still hurts from time to time!
2/17 bimalleolar ankle fracture (fib/tib) not displaced
2/29 ORIF (2 plates and 7 screws) - soft cast for 2 weeks
3/15 removable boot NWB
4/12 WBAT - in boot
5/14 walking unaided
6/28 - Fibula plate removal
