Do you have a banister/ rail in your house? I have one hand on the rail and the other in my crutch as normal and hold my spare crutch in that hand in like a cross pattern. Then keeping the crutch on the step I'm on and holding the rail, I hop up to the next step. This is how my pt told me to do it. It's a bit difficult at first but does get easier. Also, don't try using both crutches in both hands to get up the stairs, it's really unstable and easy to fall, despite being easier, the rail is your pal in this scenario :)
