Hi Trista,
What you're going through is completely normal :D
My heel didn't push right down in the boot at first either. Don't worry about it. When you feel more comfortable with pushing and pulling your leg about, you can push down harder with your leg and put your heel right down into the boot, flat against the bottom of it. It may be that you're a little afraid of pushing you leg to much at this point?. It will get stronger everyday and you will feel more confident in time to come.
Also, my incision was down the outside of my leg and it rubbed on the boot. I put a baby sock down the side of the boot and it cushioned the feeling of rubbing. I also used a strip of polar fleece down the side between my own sock and the lining of the boot.
It might seem like it will last forever, but you'll get used to it!
Great luck and good management to you :)
Mary P
