I always hate myself when i look things up online.. I always feel 500 times worse and scared! I agree with Emily.. You are going to be fine. There are many, many ,many more dangerous operations that you could be having. You will be so pleased when the HW is finally removed. Look at it as a positive thing. Another step forward on your journey.
You will be fine.. No doubt about it... Good luck..

8/4- spiral fracture of right tibia- 3 places
9/4- operation. 20 pins and metal plate
29/5- operation to remove one pin that was digging into ankle bone
20/6- got rid of horrible moon boot. Wore shoes for the first time. PWB with crutches
