Yeah, most OS seem to communicate the standard bone healing time, and fail to mention everything else. What does happen at 6-8 weeks though is that you can start working on getting it better - before that it feels like you are just waiting for things to happen.
As someone whose gross pictures you might be referring to, I can say that I am noticing definite improvements. My bruising has *finally* gone around the 10 week mark (it didn't hurt, it just wouldn't go away - but I take it's eventual disappearance as a sign that things are improving). My scar is looking better. I can wear a shoe at last. The colour difference is now marginal, except when I get cold or have my leg down for too long (and by that, I mean basically all day).
