Isnt that frustrating!?! I love in FL so majority of my wardrobe consists of sandals. When I go to work, it's heels. And when I go out its heels.
I got two new pair of shoes for work, flats, but with tons of support. They were quite expensive (about $60 a piece) but the closest thing to orthotics, but cute and less expensive than orthotics. I got them from Peltz. Not sure if you have one of those near you. They have loads of shoes that provide support. Even sandals than have more support.
I would say for you to go to orthotic store just to have them measure your foot and tell them your story and see what type of shoe they recommend for you (ie. arch support, heel support, etc) then you don't have to buy from them (they're usually like $150 a piece and not that cute), then try to find what they recommend elsewhere.
Best of luck!
