Hi Melanie,

What worked for me was having both crutches but putting all the weight on the crutch one the good side for a step or two. Kind of faking myself that I was using two crutches for those steps but just using one. Then I would gradually do it for more and more steps until I felt comfortable ditching the crutch on the bad side. I found it to be so much more work for a few days but it as eventually gotten easier. Now I am almost ready to go to no crutches.
