ASR 7:55am Jun 8 2012
I suggested you MAY go NWB for a day if you over do it. Most of us are cautioned by our OSs and PTs not to push through pain, or push our leg beyond the point of "ouch". Everyone overdoes it from time to time because we're so anxious to get back to normal, and so excited to be weight bearing again. Heck, when I finally got to the one crutch stage, the first thing I did was go out and replace a fence line in my horse pasture.
If you overdo it like I did, the next day is too painful to WB anyway. Listen to your body and give your leg the day off. Don't just plow ahead. One day off will make you stronger and more comfortable. Pushing ahead while you're in pain will just make you swell and experience more pain.
The most common phrase uttered by PTs and OS's at this phase is "let pain be your guide", meaning if it hurts, back off. Listen to your leg.
Fully recovered from Pilon tib/fib
