Hey guys,
I'm after tips & tricks for learning to trust my ankle again.
After my syndo screw was removed I was told I can start WBAT, but was not given any advice on how to do so. I was also told I didn't need to start physio yet but I plan on seeking advice from one early next week anyway. (I am being treated through the (Australian) public health system, which means I'm entitled to free physio but not until the OS refers me, but I can afford to pay for my own treatment, so I don't think I should necessarily wait.)
In the meantime, I'm slowly trying to add a little extra weight (at the moment I'm bearing very little) and to improve my ROM (not very good, and restricted by bandages post-op). I am not experiencing any pain (occasionally discomfort), but I am finding it really hard mentally to bring myself to push a little further. What I'm after is any suggestions in terms of building confidence - little things I can do to trust my body again, to not constantly protect the injury, and to win the mental battle as well as the physical one.
Thanks!
