Thanks for your response. I am hoping that this is just new tissue growth. I go back to the os on 5-25. Hoping also that after x-rays he will allow pwb or fwb. My rom is not that great in my opinion. the knee is 2 - 80 degrees and I can force my ankle to 0 but I can't pull up with the muscle. I stopped wrapping the blisters after applying the antibiotic ointment and the seem to look better and don't itch as much. you can't find many photos of the blisters and what they look like at different stages of healing. I have many different photos of mine and will look for somewhere to post them when they have healed. At the last visit the nurse said it would be 4 - 5 months before the blisters on the shin area would be completely healed. I agree these things are nasty. I am looking forward to actually walking again. My os did tell me that due to the severity of the fracture to the tibia plateau that I am probably looking at knee replacement in 3 - 4 years due to arthritis. Below is a little better time line of how things have progressed.
2/17/2012 tibia plateau fracture and ankle dislocation 1st surgery on ankle with pins and fixator installed from foot to thigh.
2/21/2012 2nd surgery plate and screws place on inside of tibia and blister deroofed.
2/28/2012 3rd surgery to complete repair on tibia plateau 12 s an 2 plates total. Fixator shortened to lower part of my leg.
3/1/2012 - 3/7/2012 pt and ot and told nwb.
4/17/2012 fixator removed but still nwb.
4/27/2012 x-ray twb only 15 lbs max
5/11/2012 dr say still twb only.
