I thought I would never need MBL again. But, here I am. In 2009 I was broadsided by an SUV. I was in a little Dodge Neon. They had to extricate me from the car. TOTALLED! So is my, once healed, ankle; bent hardware, torn ligament across the top, hernia, etc.
Went to a new ankle doc...said nothing was wrong so for two years I am just putting up with pain & swelling. Went to a nurse practitioner who took one look and said my ankle was in trouble.
Saw new specialist. Said surgery was a must. 13 week recovery then physical therapy.
Problem=no one to take care of me.
1. Leg will b in some huge round splint with cooling tubules for a week or more.
2. To make things worse I had a heart attack last year, 2 stints.
3. No place to recover; to save money i decided to live at my biz, eat out, shower at gym.
My insurance company will pay for part-time help for hygiene & to cook but I have no bath or kitchen at my biz. No parents or anyone to go to.
Any ideas? I am thinking of asking about a rehab unit or something but I don't know if the insurance co. will approve.
Bi-Mal fx 2007-Never healed. New OS/Surgery 8/6/2012-Cancaneal Osteotomy 2 screws heel, HDL tendon transfer, Achilles Lengthening, Spring Ligament repair-HWR Tib/Fib-Large splint w/cooling pads. 8/14-8/24 2012 had 3 casts-8/28 air boot. 9-18-12: PWB.
