Comment : Flying with a broken leg
Posted by Aris on Mon 5:42pm 14 June 2004
I was about 4wk after I broke my leg when I got the flight. At wk 2 I stoped taking painkillers (oxycodone every 6 hrs initially then every 8 hrs). When I took the overseas flight did not take any painkillers and no there was no pain caused by the altitude (just in case take the painkillers with you onboard). Since I had a long cast and there is probability of deep vein thrombosis (CVT) I take cumadin every day - I think this is the most concern for long flights - tell your OS when you will fly - he might give you some advice.
Yes, I DID eat a lot of gyros!!! And spanakopita!!! Going back home feels good - especially with a broken leg!
Thanks and take care man.
