I was told I'd be in a cast for 9 weeks after surgery, which would be until October 22nd. I'm supposed to get a walking cast for the last 3 weeks, but so far-I don't even wan't one. It hurts too much! I thought it would be better after they took off the too tight cast, but NOOOOOO. Then I thought it would be better after they took off the too big cast, but NOOOO. I am definitely getting the HW out someday! The big screw side is far worse than the plate side. So, do you have an incredible shrinking leg as much as I do? I was horrified when I saw it! The best part of my 41 year old body WAS my rock solid calves (it's hereditary). Even my thigh muscles are beginning to shrink now! I'm thinking this may make PT a very long ordeal!! The 3 people I know that have been in similar situations have spent 10 months to a year and a half recovering. Talk about going nuts!! Due to the nature of my job, I won't be able to go back to work during recovery. Oh well, at least I"m getting paid-SORT OF.
