Comment : Re: broken fibula:spiral fracture

It's been 4.5 months since I had surgery. The doctor put a metal plate on the fibula, about six inches long. The problem is with the ankle. The deltoid ligament was destroyed, and the syndesmosis tore(the connective tissues between the fibula and the tibia). The ankle is still very swollen, but the range and mobility is starting to creep back, thru physical therapy. Icing the ankle is key, it helps speed up the healing process. So after breaking the fibula 5 months ago, and severly displacing my foot about 30 degrees clockwise, I can walk fine, with some periodic pain. I am starting to jog lightly on it, but i am unable to pivot on the injured foot at all, for fear of tearing things up agina. I felel like i am another 4-6 months away from near full strenght. Just got to keep[ on going. That aussie football player, I feelyour frustration, as i am sure you only know one way to play a sport: aggressively.
