i was getting off a boat 8/21/05 and ended up with a spiral break in my rt. tibia. i did not have surgery after seeing 2 surgeons, was in long cast for 9 wks. and short cast for 3 wks., have been in a removable brace since then and it will be 4 months on sunday. still have a lot of swelling in my foot, haven't been able to drive yet and still using both crutches. it seems it will never be normal. the last xray showed some improvement one month ago. i go back on 12/13 and anxious to see what it shows. i am scared more than anything to walk without crutches even though i can put weight on it. they said if my fib had broken it probably would have healed faster.how much longer can this go on? my family is going crazy.oh, and range of motion in the knee and ankle is probably about 60% with pain.
