I also have a spiral fracture on my tib, nov 19th snowboarding. Did the thigh high cast for 6 weeks, then the knee high for 6 weeks, Now I have been in a boot for 3 weeks, I more to go. I fear that it is not healing and my doc is saying that surgery may be necessary if it is not looking good next week. I wish that I would have had the foresite to get a second opinion from the get go. I have spoken to two orthopedic surgeons who both have confirmed that they would have rodded it from day one. Now I will have been out of work for 4 months and now I may have to have a surgery which will take how long to heal? Get a second and third opinion. After 15 weeks on crutches my armpits hurt! Good luck I will keep my fingers crossed for both on us. Although I fear that I am in denial and will most likely have to have the surgery.
