Hey Arlen,

Thought I'd start the shoe chat on your diary instead of on the regular discussion site.

Anyway, yes, two sizes larger for the bad foot. That's because I have to wear an ankle brace and ace bandage all of the time until the OS pronounces me free.

I've gone back and forth about shoes. At first, I thought I wanted the biggest and baddest high tops I could find to protect my leg and ankle. However, with the swelling, it isn't gonna work, especially if you do PT. Several people on the board said that they wore a regular shoe and regretted it. Seems that everyone has to find a short-term remedy for shoes. Too bad you have to buy 2 to get just one. For now, I'm sticking to cheap Walmart velcro shoes that fit.

When it gets to be winter, I have no clue what to do. Tried on my winter boots the other day, and they wouldn't fit without a lot of pain. I got some Yaktrax slip-ons for the velcro shoe. They're like tire chains for shoes. They're pretty cool, so I'll probably use those until I figure out what else to do.

Yaktrax.com. Take a look.
