Arlen : Walkeasy Fore-Arm Crutches & Fetterman's Ice-Tips
Diary entry posted Tue 1:34pm 7 December 2004

Okay Folks,

I just called Fetterman's Crutches 1-888-582-5544 and put in my order for a set of Fetterma's Ice Tips, along with a set of fore-arm crutches--Walkeasy Model 490, in black. I've been researching this out, and there look to be a bunch of Guardian fore-arm crutches slightly scratched in open boxes I was thinking of buying on Ebay for $50 incl. shipping if you're interested. However, after reserching fore-arm crutches on the Web, and after talking with the fellow at Fetterman's, I don't think I want Guardians; allegedly the aluminum isn't so strong, and the cuffs break. The guy at Fetterman's sells custom made crutches (for permanently disabled or very rich temporaries, at $500 a pair), and several other brands. He advised the Walkeasies for $99 includes shipping, and I saw some comments online that led me to believe they were better than Guardians, too. I will have them in a few days! He also said that forearm crutches were less clumsy, which I intuit to be correct. Others on here seem to prefer them. I can't wait till they arrive, my rib cage is killing me.
