I had my first appointment with Liz yesterday. Marion, my NHS physio had told me that my bend was at 90 degrees. Liz disagrees and says I am at 75. This was quite a blow because there are things that I was thinking I was ready to do that I am not.
Liz picked up that I am not putting my full weight through my left leg, which I thought I was. I didn't notice that I turn my left leg out sightly, which I think I did before the accident and this has means that I don't fully weightbear. My left knee was pretty shot before the accident and had been for years so this would make sense. Husband also picked up the fact that I find it really difficult to turn smoothly on one side when ski-ing and this is probably why. The result is that I am now focusing on how I stand all the time and things hurt. Alot. I have also dropped the pillow under my knee at night to just a folded towel under my ankle & calf to make my knee straighten more. Got told off by my son for sitting on the kitchen table today and swinging my leg. I did tell him it was an exercise but as far as he was concerned I was unhygenic!
Managing to walk around the house without a crutch but still taking one out with me.
Going stir crazy very quickly now. So need to be driving again. Knee nowhere near being able to drive a manual.
