Annie : Timeline - Update 2
Diary entry posted Fri 1:27pm 8 April 2005

I am still progressing along, although there is still pain involved with all this. My first steps in the morning, can be a bit uncomfortable. It definitely takes a few to "wake up" my foot, and as it does so, it is pretty stiff and sore. I am faithfully doing my PT exercises three times a day, and my ROM is coming along. Last PT session, my therapist added this board I have to stand on with my bad foot and slowly roll my foot so the edge of the board touches the floor all the way around my ROM. There were spots where I could not get the edge to the ground, so my therapist helped me. After that, my ankle was really sore. My therapist wanted me to walk for 10 minutes on the treadmill; I lasted about 5 minutes before my ankle was really sore. I ended the session with single leg presses which at this point I find fairly easy to do. All the massaging and rotating my therapist does each session, is really helping with my ROM and to get the last of the really stubborn swelling out. I am still having to elevate and ice when I have really pushed my ankle and the evil swelling appears. All in all though, I am seeing gradual progression, slowly but surely ...
