June 19 - Update
Okay, I really tried hard to envision myself aimlessly walking the mall today to get some more exercise other than gym work - get real! I think if I keep doing that I will end up on America's 10 Most Wanted List. Now, I know there are you ladies (and maybe men?) out there who just would not understand that, but I REALLY need my daily dose of crisp mountain air laced with the scents of sage, bitterbrush, and whatever else floats by. I mean, there are people with really fair skin that slather on the SPF and get outside, so you get where this is going. I just got back from a nice little walk around the neighborhood. I did not do my little hike (too long in the rays), but I did get my dose of fresh air. And, best of all, for the first time I actually fully "jogged" on my foot three short times about 2 minutes each. My stride was not the "sneaking" stride I had tried before, but a full-weight jog on my foot. YAHOO!!! (brain endorphins are flowing right about now!) I will take the risk of being a lobster for those few brief minutes any day. In my past attempts, my foot has ached and groaned; today, it seemed to take it really well. I simply refuse to stop working towards regaining my joys in life, one of which is running. Brief as it was, my foray outside was WONDERFUL!!!
