ANOTHER CAST?? YIKES!!
Perhaps you need to be a little more vocal about a boot. I went a total of 4 weeks in a cast and it got "tight". I had surgery on both sides also, and a brace with 6 screws on the outside fibula. I let the OS know I was NOT comfortable with casts and had a lot of inside sweating (PHX AZ) that was driving me crazy. He is a leader in Orthopedic Surgery with tons of credentials. He put me in a boot instead of recasting at 4 weeks but told me NOT to walk on it yet. At 9 weeks, he allowed me to start putting slight weight on it (with crutches)and I found it easier to do without the boot.

Stay off the foot, keep it up and iced, and don't feel bad about letting everybody wait on you for another month!
