Comment : Welcome from a Tri-mal Pal

Hi Anne!

Sorry to hear of your fall and break while walking your dog. I slipped and fell on ice Jan 7 and ended up with a trimalleolar fx, which means I broke my tibia, posterior tibia, and fibula. I ended up with 2 big screws on my tibia, and a plate with 6 screws on my fibula. I'm a ways out in the recovery, but if you are bored and would like to see how it has gone, feel free to read my diary. I have fairly thorough descriptions of PT, etc, as well as the conversational stuff. I find it a bit humorous that you did this walking a "big floppy eared yellow lab"; as I write there is a 5 year old black lab and an 8 year old yellow lab sitting at my feet. My "boys" kept me sane through the recovery period. I am much more careful around them and very protective of my broken leg when they get a bit nutty, but all in all, they are pretty good around me. They were really careful when I was on crutches, which was quite something. My little black is my clown and quite energetic. Anyway, I love labs. Their personalities are great, and here in the snow country, they are "wash and dry". All the best to you on your recovery. I hope you get the pain under control and can find that "sweet spot". Annie
