I went for my 4 wk post-op visit with the os. They took x-rays which he said look good, but it's too soon to see any healing, but everything is lined up.

All my other film finally found its way into my file, so I was able to ask what I had done, and what had he done to fix it. So - there is a distal break in the tibia, not straight across more of an angle. Above the break, the bone is okay, the lower piece below has a series of hair line fractures. I now have a 2" plate and 8 screws holding it together. I don't know why, but I thought it would look neat and tidy - like a woodworking project. This looks more like someone was desperately trying to salvage and antique and just kept putting screws in at random angles till it hung together. The screws are much longer than I imagined as well.

Still nwb for another 4 weeks, no surprise. To keep me amused, I get to add muscle strengthening to rom exercises. I'm still following instructions to the letter, if only my parents were alive to see this. I keep looking at the pedals in my car and fantasizing, but I'm not ready yet. But soon.
