Same time, similar injury but I do not have hardware. I can give you a few years I guess as I am 62. I can get about with one crutch. Yesterday at physio, the crutch was taken from me. I tried "marching" with two wooden sticks. In the end the physio said just to walk with one stick and to put all my weight on the bad leg. Have been trying that and doing numerous exercises but still find it hard. This is a new therapist I have so maybe I will be walking really soon. Around the house I attempt to walk without any support. From your posts you seem to be getting anxious and I can understand that as I too am anxious. I need to get back to work and back to normal soon. Its been a long time. Perhaps you could do with a break from work. Just time for yourself to attempt exercising etc. Sorry to go on about myself but thought it would let you see that other tibial plateau fracture sufferers are still not walking on two legs without aid. My left leg is the damaged one and when I walk without aid my right arm and shoulder move about erratically. There is pain and much weakness in my bad leg but I think we have to go through the pain and grin and bear it. With all good wishes to you.
