Hi Angie
I broke my Tib and fib plus my collar bone by falling down 4 metres of rock in a tourist site while on holiday in France. Luckily I was cared for in an excellent fashion by the French doctors and awoke after four hours of surgery with a pin and 4 screws in my leg. After 2 weeks in hosptal I then had to fly for 40 hours to New Zealand. I agree with you that it is a frustrating and boring wait to recover. I am now at 8 weeks and have just begun to weight bare. The thing I am most scared about is falling again so I tend to use my wheelchair and not practise on the crutches.Life had had to be rearranged for me. I now don't feel guilty if I watch movies on Tv,read trashy novels and find sites like this on the internet. We will all get better which is the message we need to remind ourselves BUT it is such a long time for friends and family to lend a hand. The novelty for everyone soon wears off and that's when we as individuals need to get a game plan. I intend to set small goals each day and not the many millions I used to have in my head before the accident. Keep small goal planning. Love Sue
