LOL Chris, I still think yours is far far worse - mine's been a walk (or run) in the park by comparison : )
I do miss my old lifestyle, the marathons, the martial arts, the sports etc but then again, I've sort of enjoyed the past two and half years as I took up drawing again (something I never quite found time to do), spent a lot of time with family (before, again, I was always too busy with work and play) and catching up with friends, reading, learning etc etc etc so in a way, it's been good to slow down for a while. I'm planning on living on the sofa forever tho, I get wayyyyyy too bored and altho I may never be marathon material again, I will get back to the martial arts again, once my leg's healed from the ACL reconstruction BUT this time I'll try and find a decent balance between work, play, friends and family : )
Weekends are still pretty bad for me, especially at this time of year when everyones out crimbo shopping and getting in to the spirit of things and here's me, shopping on Amazon. Not quite the same effect I'm afraid LOL but I'm lucky in that it's my left leg and I have an auto so I can still get out and about. I think I'm happily recovered from the HWR now, I feel confident on my feet at least so I'm happy, and it's only another 10 weeks till the final op is done, then, altho they say the rehab is tough for that one, I'm seeing it as the final step till my life starts to get back to some semblance of normality so it's all good : )
You, on the other hand, OMG, the injuries you sustained and the speed in which you're recovering, I admire and am in awe of you! Keep it up and just remember, in a very short while, this will all be a distant memory for you which you'll look back on and hopefully laugh at - and if all else fails, it's a fantastic talking point over a few beers at the pub but make sure you come up with something really unbelievable - when people ask me how I did it, I range between shark attack and sky diving accident - it never ceases to amaze me how many people actually stand there in shock, believing every word LOL x
