Ok that's a lie, it's still broken but according to the doc at the Xray department on Wednesday the callus has started to form around the break on the tibia and you could see little strands of new bone starting to reach across the gap on the fib. It's now four and a half weeks since the op and I'm amazed had quickly life is getting back to normal. The swelling has almost gone so I can leave the leg down just about all day which makes work a lot easier.
I got a bit pissed on saturday and as I was crutching across the red lion in Newquay a bit too fast I took a tumble. When I got to the two steps on the way to the loo I tried to take it in my stride in a single crutchy bound but at the top instead of swinging forward I lost my balance and swung back and ended up putting my whole body weight on the leg. I then lost my balance and did it again. I was propped up against the wall for a bit cursing my stupidity.
Had it checked out with and X ray this week but all was fine and as described above things are progressing nicely. I've had an easy ride of it but I have to say after doing two weeks on my back pissing in a pot you have to wonder why Evil Knievel put himself though this crap over and over again. If you are still at the stuck in bed stage have a look at this link, no matter how broken you are you are unlikely to be as broken as him http://weirdscifi.ratiosemper.com/evelknievel/injuries.html
