In March of this year my husband had an operation for a knee replacement. In early July he swung his first golf clubs. The following day he set off for Troon and The Open. After an enjoyable day he was climbing down from the courtesy bus when his knee gave way causing him to fall over and fracture his femur. He was taken to Ayr Hospital where he received excellent treatment. On our return to Northern Ireland where we live he was seen by his consultant who told him he could go home but must have no weight bearing for at least six weeks. He has a bed downstairs and a wheelchair which helps but he is climbing up the walls with frustration. His last check up showed that things were going OK but he is not sure what to expect now. Could someone who has been through something similar let us know what the time period is before he will be able to get about normally. He is 59 years old and otherwise healthy. Many thanks - Elaine.
