Comment : I thought I was the only crazy jumping person
Posted by Robin on Sun 12:15am 15 April 2007

I thought I was the only one who jumped off a horse and broke something. My horse stumbled while we were cantering through the field and I knew I was going to fall. So, rather than just falling off and landing any which way, I jumped. Landed exactly how I wanted to, on my feet, but knew as soon as I hit the ground I had broken something. My right tibia. Now it is 5 weeks later and I am still in a boot, not bearing weight. It sucks. We had lots of horse camping planned this summer. My husband has said that I can ride Gypsy the pony who is completely bomb proof. Like he has any say in it... But, we will see. I actually went and visited my large furry friends this afternoon. It is quite difficult to curry a horse on crutches. Not the horse on crutches, but me on on crutches. I kept imagining Dakota stepping on my right foot... Scary. But they are great. Being on crutches also means that my husband and son have to feed. Hard to carry a hay bale while on crutches...

Hope everyone is healing well...
