Hi Alison.
Gosh, I can relate to all this. I was knocked flying by a dog on 8th Dec. 2010 and like you I have a TPF. I was admitted straight to hospital and on bed rest for 3 days then surgery on 11th Dec. Escaped on 13th Dec with a full leg cast. Yes, I had a zimmer frame, toilet frame, toilet seat, bed raise as well and 6 weeks of injections. We are on the last box now. I am in a leg brace now and have the scope to bend up to 60 degrees but it just doesn't happen. No instuctions at the fracture clinic about how I should be working on the bend and to be honest I didn't think to ask. The bend is getting better though with abit of practice everyday. I did ask about arthritus as well because I have it behind my knee cap. I was told that I would get a flare up of it. Not much help, so I am expecting major problems when I am mobile. I am really impressed that you were weightbearing after 6 weeks. I am back at the fracture clinic this Thursday and I have convinced myself that I have at least 4 more weeks of this. Interesting to see what happens. I'm a couple of hundred miles south of you in Northamptonshire, so we are both at the mercy of the NHS>
