I'm limping up a storm. My OS told me it would be a bit more painful, but that recovery would come much quicker due to the independence. By the way, he doesn't mention the broken tibia at all. He just concentrates on the ankle fracture. As I recall from previous my fractures, there just isn't much they can do, so they look at the heal rate, and as long as it is satisfactory, they don't do anything.
PT is becoming far more painful now. They have me doing more rotation exercises and weight lifting. My therapist told me that I am entering the final phase, but that it would be the most difficult part of the recovery.
On the flip side, I spent a full half hour spinning yesterday. If you haven't already gotten a stationary bike, and you want to save some money, you can go to a bike store, and get a bike trainer. They turn any outdoor bike into a stationary bike, and cost a fraction of a good stationary bike. They're also pretty quiet, and give you a far wider range of resistance since it mimics the road.
I hope you make a lot more progress. Good Luck.
